Sorption and desorption of sex hormones in soil- and sediment-water systems: A review
Sex hormones are a group of potent endocrine disruptors that can be released into agricultural soils and sediment via wastewater discharge manure fertilization. Sorption represents critical determinant for the transport potential risks sex in environment. Therefore, this study reviewed sorption desorption mechanisms soil- sediment-water systems, summarized effects various factors on processes. A total 359 set data were collected from literature. mostly described by linear model. The magnitudes (logKoc) estrogens, androgens, progestins range 2.77–3.90, 2.55–4.18, 2.61–4.39, respectively. average logKoc values significantly correlated with their logKow (R2= 0.13, p < 0.05), while R2 much lower than those when fewer included analysis. In addition, Kd most OC% 0.16–0.99, but insignificantly particle size distribution surface area. These results indicated hydrophobic partitioning interaction other specific interactions responsible hormone uptake systems. systems also affected environmental variables, including pH, temperature, ionic strength. Future studies should focus coupled leaching-sorption processes manure-water-soil under field-scale conditions.

15 صفحه اولsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Effect of Co-existing Heavy Metals and Natural Organic Matter on Sorption/Desorption of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Soil: A Review
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), abundant in mixed contaminant sites, often coexist with heavy metals. The fate and remediation of PAHs depend heavily on the sorption and desorption behavior of these contaminants. The sorption behavior can in turn be highly affected by certain soil components and properties, such as soil organic matter (SOM) and the presence of heavy metals. Through rev...
Effect of salinity and sediment characteristics on the sorption and desorption of perfluorooctane sulfonate at sediment-water interface.
This study investigated the influence of solution salinity, pH and the sediment characteristics on the sorption and desorption of perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS). The results showed that the sorption of PFOS onto sediment increased by a factor of 3 as the CaCl(2) concentration increased from 0.005 to 0.5 mol L(-1) at pH 7.0, and nearly 6 at pH 8.0. Desorption hysteresis occurred over all salin...
